University of Calabar Postgraduate Admission Requirements

If you are applying for a postgraduate program at the University of Calabar, these are the requirements you are expected to meet to gain admission.

PhD Degree Programmes

  • Candidates for this program must have an academic Master’s degree in a relevant discipline from a recognized university.

Masters’ Degree Programmes Academic M. Sc

  • Candidates must hold a Second Class Lower Division degree with a CGPA of no less than 2.75 on a 4.00-5.00 scale from a recognized university.
  • Alternatively, they may have a Second Class Lower Division with a CGPA between 2.40 and 2.74 on a 0.00-5.00 scale from a recognized university.
  • Additionally, those with a relevant Postgraduate Diploma can qualify with a minimum CGPA of 3.00 (merit) on a 0.00-5.00 scale, provided they meet the university’s entry requirements in the relevant field.

Postgraduate Diploma Programme

  • Candidates must possess a first degree with at least a 3rd Class Degree or higher or a Higher National Diploma with at least Lower Credit or its equivalent.
