Umaru Musa Yar’adua University Admission Requirements
If you are interested in applying for admission at Umaru Musa Yar’adua University via the UTME mode, these are the requirements you are expected to meet.
- To gain admission into Umaru Musa Yar’Adua University, Katsina, you need at least 5 credits in your Senior Secondary Certificate Examinations (SSCE/GCE) obtained in no more than 2 sittings.
- Ensure that you select the correct JAMB subject combination for your chosen course.
- Candidates must also score a minimum of 180 in the recent JAMB UTME to qualify for admission. Participation in UMYU’s POST UTME/SCREENING is required for consideration, if applicable for the year.
- Applicants must be at least 16 years old.

Direct Entry (DE) Admission Requirements For Umaru Musa Yar’adua University
If you are interested in studying at this university via the Direct Entry route these are the requirements you are expected to meet to qualify for admission.
- To be eligible for direct entry admission into Umaru Musa Yar’Adua University, Katsina, you need a minimum of 5 credits in your Senior Secondary Certificate Examinations (SSCE/GCE) obtained in no more than 2 sittings.
- You must have an ‘A’ level/IJMB pass in two subjects related to your chosen field of study. JUPEB or ‘A’ level passes in relevant subjects are also acceptable.
- You must have a First Class or Second Class Upper degree in a related field to your course of choice.
- Direct entry candidates must purchase the UMYU Direct Entry form through the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) and the UMYU portal.
- A minimum of a Merit Pass in the National Certificate of Education (NCE), National Diploma (ND), or other Advanced Level Certificates is also required.
