1. Foreign Fulbright Student Program
The Fulbright Program is a scholarship program in the USA for international students who are interested in pursuing a Master’s or Ph.D. degree. The grant covers tuition fees, textbooks, airfare, a living stipend, and health insurance.
2. Humphrey Fellowship Program
The Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Program offers a year of professional development in the United States for experienced professionals from eligible countries across the world. Recipients of this scholarship are selected based on their leadership potential and their commitment to public service. Recipients receive full grants covering all related expenses.
3. AU Emerging Global Leader Scholarship Program
The American University awards scholarships to international students with exceptional academic achievements who wish to pursue a Bachelor’s Degree at the University. The recipients of this award have to be individuals who are dedicated to positive civic and social change.
This scholarship is designed for students who intend to return to their home countries to improve under-resourced, under-served communities. The scholarship covers all billable AU expenses (full tuition, room, and board) for ONE international student who will need a visa (preferably an F-1 or J-1 student visa) to study in the United States.
4. Amherst College Scholarships
Amherst College currently offers a need-based financial aid program that provides assistance to financially constrained international students. The student’s financial need is determined once they have been admitted. The financial aid award equal to the student’s need will then be offered. The award is sometimes referred to as an “aid package” because it may include both self-help (employment) and gift aid (scholarships and grants).
5. Berea College Scholarships
All international students admitted at this college receive financial aid and scholarships that cover 100% of tuition, room, board, and fees for the first year of enrollment. In the subsequent years, international students are then expected to save $1,000 (US), in order to contribute toward their expenses. To help these students save this amount, the college provides summer jobs to international students.
6. Clark University Scholarships
Clark University offers the Clark Presidential Scholarships, this is a prestigious award for students who demonstrate a very exceptional academic record and leadership potential.
Approximately five students receive the scholarship award each year. The scholarship covers on-campus room, full tuition, and board for four years of study, the scholarship is awarded regardless of the financial status of the recipient’s financial status.
7. Colby-Sawyer College Scholarships
This scholarship is awarded to international students studying at Colby-Sawyer College. The value of this scholarship increases based on academic ability (measured in GPA) and ranges up to $8,000 per year.
8. Wesleyan University Scholarships
The Freeman Asian Scholars Program provides full-tuition scholarships to 11 exceptional Asian students for a four-year course of study at Wesleyan toward a bachelor’s degree. In addition to the 11 Freeman Asian Scholars, the University also offers financial aid to about 40-45 foreign students selected from approximately 2,800 international applicants applying for financial aid
9. Concordia College Scholarships
Concordia College offers an International Student Scholarship which is based on academic ability and family needs of international students. The value of this scholarship amounts to $16,000 per year, the international Excellence Scholarships are competitive. Merit-based scholarships are also awarded to international first-year students or transfer students for up to four years, the value of this scholarship range from $8,000 – $16,000 per year.
10. Oregon University Scholarships
The University of Oregon awards more than $2.5 million in financial aid and scholarships to international students at both the undergraduate and graduate levels each year. One of the scholarship programs available at this college is the ICSP Scholarship which awards tuition-waiver scholarships that range from partial to full tuition for up to 15 credits per term each year. Scholarships are awarded based on academic merit, financial need, and the ability to make presentations to diverse groups of people.
11. East Tennessee State University
East Tennessee State University (ETSU) provides financial aid through the International Students Academic Merit Scholarship to new international students seeking to pursue a graduate or undergraduate degree. The scholarship value is $12,500 for Undergraduate students and $5000-$9000 for Graduate students per academic year.
12. East-West Center
The East-West Center Graduate Degree Fellowship provides funding for up to 2 years for Master’s or Doctoral degree students from the Pacific, Asia, and the U.S. to participate in the educational, residential, and leadership development programs at the East-West Center while pursuing graduate study at the University of Hawai’i.
13. Emory College Scholarships
Emory College provides need-based financial aid awards to a select group of international students every year. International applicants are encouraged to apply for partial or full merit-based scholarships through the Emory University Scholars Program.
14. Illinois Wesleyan University Scholarships
The Illinois Wesleyan University Scholarship is a merit-based scholarship offered to qualified international students who possess outstanding academic achievements and perform excellently in test scores on the required entrance exams.
The two awards range from $16,000 to $30,000 per year and they are renewable for up to four years. Two full-tuition President’s International Student Scholarships may be awarded each year to qualified international students for up to four years of study in addition to the merit-based scholarship.
15. Iowa State University International Merit Scholarships
Iowa State University International Merit Scholarships is provided for international freshmen studying at Iowa State University, this scholarship is merit-based and limited. The selection is competitive based on a holistic review of SAT or ACT scores and high school marks/grades. The value of the scholarship awards ranges from about $2,000 to $10,000 per year and are renewable.
