Aims And Objectives

At the conclusion of the three-year course of study, the candidate will be anticipated to;

1. have knowledge of, an appreciation for, and knowledge of the religious, cultural, historical, and social context of the biblical texts that are to be studied;

2. comprehend the nature of the moral lessons taught by the Bible in the passages or themes chosen, as well as the degree to which those lessons still apply to today’s social, political, religious, and cultural existence;

3. point out challenges in applying biblically-based positive attitudes, ideas, and skills to promote national advancement and peaceful coexistence;

4. Through independent research and critical thinking, show that you are adequately prepared for college.

Scheme Of Examination

There will be two papers, Papers 1 and 2, both of which will be composite exams that must be taken all at once.

PAPER 1: 50 multiple-choice objective questions that must all be answered within one hour to receive 40 points will make up the test.

PAPER 2: 9 essay-style questions will make up the test. Four questions must be answered in two hours by candidates for a total of 60 points.

The sections in which the questions will be placed are as follows:

Section A: Four questions based on themes from the Old Testament.
Section B: Three questions on themes from the Synoptic Gospels and the Acts of the Apostle.
Section C: Two questions based on themes from selected epistles

All four questions must be answered by candidates, with the fourth question coming from either Section A or Section B. Candidates must choose at least one question from each section.

The questions will be formulated using the Revised Standard Version of the Bible.
