Joint Universities Preliminary Exams Board acronym JUPEB is a one-year admissions program. With JUPEB, you can get direct entrance admission to the 200-level program of your choosing. But before you can take the exam, you must first go through nine (9) months of rigorous instruction.
Successful applicants would thereafter be qualified for admission through direct entry into the second year. Students who do well on this exam have a better chance of getting in than students who do poorly.
The program’s primary benefit is that if you get admitted through the JUPEB program, you won’t have to begin at the beginning of the first year.
It is significant to emphasize that the program is competitive. To get accepted into your selected course, you must receive a high point total.
A vast majority of people tend to mix together JUPEB with IJMB, which is a mistake because, despite having similar goals, these two programs are not the same thing. Instead, they use entirely distinct approaches and have different organizations in charge of carrying them out.
Any other center you come across that is not a university is plainly a scam because, unlike IJMB, the JUPEB program cannot be operated anywhere other than a university.
Requirements for Universities to Become JUPEB-Affiliated Centers

The Vice Chancellor of any University that wishes to submit candidates for the JUPEB examinations must request affiliation in writing to:

Also, to determine whether the University is ready to operate the JUPEB program in terms of the availability of people and physical resources, the Registrar/CE, in collaboration with the Vice-Chancellor of the University, would schedule a date for the Pre-Affiliation Visit a Team from JUPEB.
For the Pre-Affiliation Visit, the University is responsible for providing the necessary logistics. After the Pre-Affiliation Visit, the Pre-Affiliation Visit Team will submit their recommendations to the Governing Board via the Registrar/Chief Executive.
The University would be required to pay an Affiliation Fee that would be determined from time to time once the Governing Board approved the Pre-Affiliation Visit Report.
After that, the University can recruit applicants and carry out the program in accordance with JUPEB’s calendar and syllabus.

Meanwhile, Polytechnics do not accept JUPEB, this program is restricted to Universities for now, maybe along the line some adjustments may be made.
