KSUSTA PG Admission Requirement
(A) POSTGRADUATE DIPLOMA PROGRAMMES
The following criteria must be met in order to be admitted to postgraduate diploma programs:
- Those who have earned a minimum of a third-class degree from KSUSTA or another accredited university.
- Those who have earned a Higher National Diploma (HND, not HD) in a comparable field with at least a Lower Credit or its equivalent.
- Holders of HNDs (not HDs) in unrelated fields who have at least Lower Credit.
But such applicants might be permitted if they pass exams set by the department or faculty after consulting with the postgraduate school. - Candidates with credentials that the University’s Senate and Board of Postgraduate School, in addition to the aforementioned, consider suitable.
- In addition to the items in (i) through (iv) above, a candidate must meet the matriculation criteria of the university.
(B) MASTERS DEGREES (ACADEMIC AND PROFESSIONAL)
The following must be met in order to be admitted for a master’s degree:
- Graduates with a bachelor’s degree validated by the university and at least a second-class honors lower division, or its equivalent, from KSUSTA or another recognized university.
- Candidates with undeclared degrees with a “C” or 50% average.
- Candidates in the third division with only a bachelor’s degree have at least three years of relevant job experience.
- Candidates with HNDs (not HDs) from accredited institutions with at least a Lower Credit pass, as well as Postgraduate Diplomas from KSUSTA or any other accredited university with at least a Lower Credit pass in the applicable fields.
- Candidates with qualifications that the Board of Postgraduate School and University Senate, in addition to those mentioned above, approve.

- Graduates of KSUSTA and other reputable universities with good master’s degrees with a minimum GPA of less than 3.5 on a 5-point scale or less than 2.5 on a 4-point scale.
- Candidates who hold the degree of Professional Master with a minimum GPA of 3.5 on a 5-point scale and at least a Bachelor’s degree that is not lower than third class division; the degrees of such candidates shall terminate at M.Phil.
- Candidates who have been recommended by their respective Departments for promotion from Master to M.Phil.
- Candidates for the M.Phil. degree who are interested in pursuing a Ph.D. must hold a bachelor’s degree with a minimum GPA of 2.
- Candidates with qualifications that the University’s Senate and Board of Postgraduate School both accept in addition to those mentioned above.
- In addition to the items in (i) through (iv) above, a candidate must meet the matriculation criteria of the university.
(D) DEGREE OF DOCTOR OF PHILOSOPHY (PH.D.)
The following shall qualify for the Doctor of Philosophy admission:
- Graduates from accredited universities, including KSUSTA, who have earned good master’s degrees and have GPAs of at least 4.00 on a 5-point scale or 3.50 on a 4-point scale relevant to the proposed fields of study.
- Candidates who earned their Masters’s degrees only via research must have at least “B” grades or a 60% overall score.
- Candidates who possess qualifications in addition to those mentioned above that are deemed appropriate by the university’s senate and board of postgraduate studies.
- In addition to the requirements in (i) through (iii) above, candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree with a minimum second-class lower division.
