What is the JAMB Subject combination to study Public Administration in Nigeria? In this article, the JAMB subject combinations for enrollment in public administration programs at Nigerian universities are covered. That is the requirements set by JAMB for UTME, direct entry (A level), and Special consideration/Waiver subject combinations.
Meeting the requirements and having the appropriate subject combinations for the course as requested by the institution you wish to study are without a doubt crucial factors in getting admitted into the tertiary institution of your choice in Nigeria to pursue your desired course of study.
The likelihood of being accepted into the institution and the course you so desperately want to enroll in during that particular admission year is typically eliminated if you are unable to fulfill this requirement. Having the right subject combinations is more important than simply receiving a credit pass or distinction in each subject.
JAMB Subject Combination For Public Administration
In order to be considered for a position in public administration, applicants must have earned at least 5 credits in the necessary subjects on their O’ level exams (NECO, GCE, and WAEC). For those wishing to study public administration, the following JAMB UTME subject combinations are necessary:
- English language
- Mathematics
- Economics
- Government.
WAEC Subject Combination For Public Administration
A prospective candidate for Public Administration must have, at least, the credit grade in five O’Level subjects which include:
- Mathematics,
- English,
- Government,
- Economics,
- and any other social sciences subject like History, Commerce, Accounting, etc.
Accepted JAMB Score For UTME
Although JAMB typically sets the cut-off mark for admission to any tertiary institution at 180, admission in the country is frequently choked, not to mention a course like Public administration which is highly competitive. It is safe to have a score that is above 200.
Note: If your JAMB score is less than 180, you can apply to Polytechnics and Colleges of Education, which also provide this course.
Admission Requirement
Candidates must fulfill the following fundamental entry requirements in order to study public administration at any of the universities listed below:
a) English Language, Government, Economics, and any other two subjects, each with a minimum of five (5) “O” level credits, are required. It should be noted that studying public administration does not primarily require knowledge of mathematics.
b) Candidates must achieve the required cut-off score for the university or polytechnic of their choice. We advise you to achieve a minimum score of 240 or higher because you will have a better chance of being accepted to study public administration at the institution of your choice.
The prerequisites listed above are the minimum standards for public administration programs at the universities. However, when you sign up for the schools’ post-UTME admission forms, they will let you know about additional requirements.
