How To Calculate UMYU Aggregate Score 2024/2025

Want to know how to calculate the UMYU Aggregate Score for the 2024/2025 academic session? Due to the fact that each institution has a different cut-off mark, many students find it challenging to determine their overall score. This article will explain the meaning of aggregate and post-UTME scores and the variables that need to be considered before computing the aggregate score.

Aggregate scores

Aggregate scores are calculated by finding the sum of all those subjects whose marks must be considered, and then dividing the sum by total marks. The final result is then multiplied by 100, which gives the aggregate percentage.

What Is Post UTME Score

The exam body sets a specific mark after each UTME exercise, such as 120. A candidate must obtain or surpass this score in order to be eligible to take the POST UTME exam at the selected school. All schools are informed of this grade so they can choose how many applicants to accept.

Following the decision of the school, they announce a specific mark that cannot be less than the mark the UTME body determined. Any candidate who exceeds the UTME body’s mark but falls short of the required score for the selected institution is ineligible to take the school’s POST UTME.

The school’s cut-off mark is the score or mark established by the school admissions committee.

How to Calculate UMYU Aggregate Score

To appropriately compute your aggregate, keep in mind that the JAMB Examination carries 400 points, while the UMYU Post-UTME only carries 100.

  • Divide your JAMB score by 8,
  • Divide your Post UTME score by  2,
  • Add up the result.

For instance;

These steps can be used to get Stella’s Aggregate score if she received a 240 in her JAMB exam and an 80 in her post-UTME exam.

240/8= 30

80/2= 40

40+ 30= 70

Stella’s aggregate score is 70.
