Bowen University Admission General Entry Requirement
To apply for UTME,
- All candidates need to have completed at least five subjects from SSCE, GCE, NECO, NABTEB, or an approved equivalent.
- These subjects must include English Language and four additional subjects specified by each Faculty.
- The completion of the five required credits should be within a maximum of two sessions.
- Note: NABTEB is not accepted for physiotherapy, nursing science, and medicine and surgery programs, as the five credits (including English and math) must be obtained in a single attempt.
- Applicants who are waiting for their results are encouraged to apply. Passing the Bowen University Screening Exercise is a requirement for all applicants. Also, applicants must fill out the University Application forms.
In order to change their university preference to Bowen University after submitting an application for admission to JAMB, interested students must:
- Use JAMB to request a change of institution.
- The Bowen University application form should be completed.
- Participate in the selection process for Bowen University.
- The cost of attending Bowen University is also available.
2. For Direct Entry
- To get direct admission, applicants need to meet certain criteria. These include having a credit-level qualification in NCE, ND, or equivalent in relevant subjects with at least a Lower Credit. Also, two Advanced Level passes at the appropriate grade level are required.
- The School of Basic Studies is overseen by the Interim Joint Matriculation Board (IJMB), Joint Universities Preliminary Examination Board (JUPEB), or Cambridge, ensuring moderation at the relevant grade levels.
- Candidates are required to complete either NCE/ND/IJMB, JUPEB, or two Advanced Level papers specified by the Faculty or course, along with meeting Ordinary Level requirements.
- HND holders may be admitted to either the 200 or 300 level, depending on the admission rules of each department/program.
- All those applying for direct entry must go through the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).
