This is to notify applicants who selected Babcock University as their first choice institution in the 2024 Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) that they may now apply online at admissions.babcock.edu.ng for the Post Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (Post-UTME).

Babcock University Admission Requirements 2024/2025

A minimum of five credits from the GCE, SSCE, or NECO exams, or its equivalent (taken in no more than two sittings), one sitting only for medicine, and an aggregate score of 170 on the 2024/2025 UTME are required to be admitted to the First Degree Program. The only applicants who may apply are those who are at least 16 years old.

  • Only the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board Direct Entry are used for admission to Babcock University’s undergraduate programs.

  • Direct Admission: Applicants may be admitted to 200-level courses if they meet the “O” Level criteria and have at least two A-level passes from GCE, IJMB, or JUPEB in two suitable disciplines (Biology, Botany, Chemistry, Geography, Mathematics, and Physics).

Admission Requirements

  • UTME: Candidates seeking admission to the degree program must, in addition to having acceptable Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) scores, have passed the Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) or its equivalent in one sitting with credit in each of the following subjects: physics, chemistry, biology, mathematics, and English language.
  • Additionally, students will take the Joint Admission and Matriculation Examination and the post-UTME, and they will receive a score that is suitable for the university they want to be admitted to.

DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN ANATOMY

  • Degree offered: B. Sc. (Hons) Human Anatomy

Admission Requirements  

  • UTME: There are two distinct admissions methods for the discipline: Direct Entry and the Unified Tertiary Matriculation (UTME), which is a four-year degree program.
  • 4-Year Program for Higher Degree: In addition to the UTME criteria, the minimum academic requirement is credit level passes in five subjects at the Senior Schoo Certificate Examination (SSCE) or its equivalent, including English language, mathematics, physics, chemistry, and biology, in no more than two (2) sittings.
  • Direct Entry: In addition to meeting the UTME requirements, applicants should have either an acceptable First Degree in relevant Biological or Physical Science, or credit passes in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Zoology at the Higher School Certificate or Advanced Level of General Certificate Examination, or its equivalent.

DEPARTMENT OF PHYSIOLOGY

  • Degree offered: B. Sc. (Hons) Physiology

Admission Requirements

  • UTME: This mode of entry has two major pathways which include Unified Tertiary Matriculation (UTME) for a four-year degree program and the Direct Entry.
  • For a four-year academic program, candidates must possess a five-credit pass in five subjects in the Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE)/ its equivalent including English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology in not more than two (2) sittings in addition to the UTME requirements.
  • Direct Entry: Candidates must meet the following requirements in addition to the UTME requirements to be considered for admission: a first degree in a relevant biological or physical science discipline; credit passes in physics, chemistry, biology, or zoology at the Higher School Certificates or Advanced Level of General Certificate Examination, or its equivalent.

DEPARTMENT OF BIOCHEMISTRY

  • Degree offered: B. Sc. (Hons) Biochemistry
  • Four Years (4 years) Degree Programme

Admission Requirements

UTME: The minimum academic requirement is credit level passes in five subjects at Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE)/its equivalent including English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology in not more than two (2) sittings in addition to the UTME requirements.

Direct Entry: Candidates with at at least two A-level passes in relevant subjects at the GCE Advanced Level/ IJMB/ JUPEB or equivalent, may be considered for admission into 200 Level, provided they satisfy the ‘O’ level qualifications above.

DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN NUTRITION AND DIETETICS

  • Degree offered: B. Sc. (Hons) Human Nutrition and Dietetics
  • Five Years (5 years) Degree Programme
  • UTME:  Five credit level passes, minimum, including English language, math, biology, physics, and chemistry at O’level or SSCE/its equivalent in no more than two sittings; additionally, certain program requirements must be met with a passing score in the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board’s UTME (JAMB).
  • Direct Entry Mode: Minimum grade of B in relevant science areas at A’ level, first degree in a related field, and any additional requirements set by the particular program.

DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH

  • Degree offered: B. Sc. (Hons) Public Health Four Years (4 years) Degree Programme

Admission Requirements

  • UTME: Five credit level passes, minimum, in English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Physics, Chemistry, and any other Science subjects at O’level or SSCE/its equivalent in no more than two sittings; additionally, requirements by specific program with a passable score in the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board’s UTME (JAMB).
    Direct Entry Mode:
    First degree in a relevant field, A’ level in pertinent science courses with a minimum of B grade, and other qualifications specified by the particular program.

DEPARTMENT OF MEDICAL LABORATORY SCIENCE

  • Degree offered: BMLS (Hons) Medical Laboratory Science
  • Five Years (5 years) Degree Programme

UTME: Minimum of five credit level passes at the level in English language, math, biology, physics, and chemistry.

  • Degree offered: BNSc. (Hons) Nursing Science
  • Five Years (5 years) Degree Programme

Admission Requirements

  • UTME: SSCE or its equivalent in no more than two sittings, or an O’level equivalent in English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Physics, and Chemistry, in addition to any additional requirements by program with a passing score in the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board’s UTME (JAMB)
  • Direct Entry Mode: Applicants must meet the minimal university criteria, which include passing the university’s identity and document verification exam and having a first degree in a related field with at least a B grade in relevant areas, to be admitted to the degree program.
  • The senior secondary school certificate examination (SSCE) or its equivalent in a minimum of five subjects, at no more than two sittings, must be passed with a credit (C) level. These courses must include English language, biology, chemistry, physics, and mathematics.
  • RNs and RMs who have passed the SSCE subject with credit may be admitted directly into the 200 level through Direct Entry, providing they meet further university entrance standards.
